Not a big fan of introductions but as new, it seems a minimum requirement.

I’m from the UK, have lived previously in Canada, Belgium, Holland and Germany and now find myself in Greece.

Looking to get to know people who are similarly creative in one way or another. I work and teach 2D/3D multimedia and specialise in Interactive technologies. In my spare time I play guitar, paint and model weird-assed things for fun/therapy and would like to get to know a few more similarly minded people to share the madness, have a laugh and who knows what else.

I speak English, French and laughably a little Greek to which I hope to master at some point however can communicate with most people of all denominations, even if I have to resort to doodling and waving my arms around whilst pointing at things.

I write a number of Blogs for amusement and work and they can be found below to give you an insight into my f*ckdup world and what I do:

If you get chance drop me a hello back, please do!

Welcome to GIH. You sound a live wire. Enjoy your stay in Greece. We used to live close to Galatsi. It’s lovely down at Veiku park, especially in summer when the outdoor movies are on. I think in winter the sports center is open for coffee and light meals.

Best to just join in the banter to get yourself known. GIH members are ahem…know for their reticence in posting although you will note that many read the posts, usually the same few actually answer. I bet everyone is really curious about what you do…in language for dummies please.
All the bright ones on the site keep a low profile :))

Thanks again, I’ll pick it up on here no doubt, I’ve been too involved in settling in previously to network and socialise much, however finally got to see the light of day and feel it’s about time I came out of my shell.

Greece as I’m sure you know is quite an experience and something that takes considerable adjustment to when you first arrive, I think the current timing hasn’t helped make it an easier place for anyone, so it’s good to finally be able to join in, whilst slightly better equipped. . .

Winter in Athens has lots going for it. Wish I could remember the site that has all the happenings. Maybe some of the other members can remember it. I do know there is an Athens Hash House Harriers, Google it.

Yes, we’re all quiet, shy and retiring (or already retired in most cases!)…..
Ooops, I forgot to keep a low profile 😕

Anyway, welcome to the site… I’m sure that once board member’s old bones have unfrozen and dried out, they’ll get those old arthiritic fingers to tap out a message.

Thanks, KP, whilst I am a fan of a slightly cooler Athens for the most part, it’s easy to get tired of the ‘rare’ cooler period when it arrives.

I’m just looking forward to spring again now so I can get out in the garden more and be a little more creative again.

And thanks for the link to the other site Kiwi, I know of it, hadn’t really looked around till now so I can hopefully start to take advantage of the many things which go on throughout the year,

Anyway, thanks for the welcoming messages!

Welcome from me as well. We’re in Crete, which is cold at the moment but today dry, so gardening is on my agenda at the moment too.
